I am a general therapist who works with women, men and couples providing therapeutic interventions for physical and emotional difficulties. I also specialize in providing psychotherapy for people who struggle with infertility or gynecological and reproductive issues.

I bring an enthusiasm to what I do based on having had the pleasure of facilitating people such as yourself in the business of getting a satisfactory outcome to a mental, physical or circumstantial log-jam. As a psychotherapist in the New York City area I have felt privileged to have been a part (since 1979) of helping people reach their goals, whether that has been to navigate the emotional component of a medical maze, steady themselves from the disarray of a painful situation of any kind, rebalance a relationship or gain clarification and validation to elevate levels of self-esteem. My orientation allows me to provide support, guidance, compassion and encouragement in a way that aims to break into the way the mind and body provoke and respond to each other, thereby establishing a psychotherapeutic change process.

My training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, family systems therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as clinical hypnotherapy and mind/body medicine qualifies me to work with a very wide variety of patients.

It is heartening to know that you are sensitive to the mind/body connection and recognize that what goes on physically is registered in the psyche as well as the body. I have had the pleasure of seeing patients get the relief that they crave in our collaboration. I can hold a safe space in which patients can disentangle the physical reality from the psychological experience. Many reproductive or gynecological physical conditions have a huge emotional kick because these conditions mandate that the patient must go public with her/his most private self. In addition it is common for there to be an impact on the significant other and the relationship.
